We had a wonderful Christmas this year. I just loved watching Koen and Emileigh's faces light up when they awoke Christmas morning to find presents under the tree. Koen wanted to tear right into his presents; we had to stop him half-way opening one before his sister and the rest of us were ready. We were also blessed this year to have my parents stay with us and share this special moment with us. The kids loved to have their Poppy and Nana here too.

Santa Claus was extra good to the kids this year, maybe because Koen and Emileigh wrote letters to Santa telling him they were being good. We mailed them off with stamps and addressed only To: Santa, From: Koen & Emileigh, no return address or anything, and an envelope arrived in the mail on Christmas Eve from the North Pole addressed to Koen and Emileigh! Sure enough, Santa got their letters and wrote a letter to each of them! The kids were so excited to get mail from Santa, and Rolf and I thought it was pretty awesome too.

Your tree is so pretty. My mom was born and raised in Germany, she trys to teach Aurora german over the phone.
It was a tremendous blessing to be with you and your sweet family! Really, words are just not enough.
Thank you, too, for letting us in on the magic that only comes on an early Christmas morning as experienced with small, beloved children.
I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but seriously, Emileigh looks like she was born a part of your family. I can't get over it. People say that about my husband all the time (he's adopted) - that he looks "just like his dad." Anyways, fun Christmas. And cute jammies.
